Hi again from MovieFest HQ, we've been a little quiet of late, but here's an update.
This year MovieFest selected 20 movies from over 100 registrants and from them our judges have found the best, which we're proud to bring you, this Saturday 27th in Upper Hutt, Wellington from 10am.
Screenings this Saturday in the Genesis Energy Theatre, Expressions Arts and Entertainment Centre, 836 Fergusson Drive, Upper Hutt will show selected movies from the three categories. Each movie is approximately 5 minutes long or less, with each screening repeating every hour and a half.
Screenings will start at 10:00 am, 11:40 am and 1:30 pm. Admission is via donation.
After these screenings the awards ceremony will commence at 3:30 pm, and go until 5 pm. The awards ceremony will present prizes in each of the categories, and the overall prize for the winner of MovieFest 2007. A viewers choice will be selected during the day and awarded as well. All finalists should make an effort to attend, as who knows what is in the sealed envelopes prepared by the judges, and In the past there have been Oscars to hold... we do apologise for the short notice.
The program will also feature a music video from singer, songwriter Carol Bean who has featured on a number of feature Hollywood films, and also a short animation and tips from Phill Simmons of the SImmons brothers, who are leading animators here in Wellington, on the Kapiti coast. Of note is the Fireworks fantastic in Upper Hutt City - commencing at 5pm.
