Theres a couple of movies that do NOT meet certain of guidelines and rules -- Basically use of commercial music without permission or attribution, lack of adherance to the MovieFest Topic (The Lesson), and any violence, swearing could exclude your movie from the screenings line-up. Despite making a great (or high scoring) movie you could miss out...

These rankings are given as a guide only -- and is an indication of your movie's merit on techinical aspects: See the preliminary judging form for details on the sub categories.
Basically at the preselections your movie is rated out of 5 in five areas. These scores are used to select the regional finalists which are screened in your local regional screening.
